the Iraq International Oil and Gas, Oil Equipment, and Energy Exhibition 2024

Our firm represented by both Attorney Mr. Anas Duraid Zaki and Mr. Masood Muqdad Sami, had the pleasure of attending the Iraq International Oil and Gas, Oil Equipment, and Energy Exhibition 2024 Sponsored by the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and the Basra Governorate Office, and supported by some prominent institutions, including Total Energies and Al-Taif Bank.

The exhibition, held at the Basra International Fair for 3 consecutive days, witnessed broad participation from major companies and institutions representing countries such as China, Russia, Germany, France, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and other countries. Attendance represented Companies operating in the oil and gas sector, showcasing their unique products, services, various technologies, and serving as a platform for exchanging expertise, and enhancing cooperation in this vital industry.

The event kicked off with an opening speech by Mr. Adnan Al-Jaberi, Deputy Chief of the Oil and Gas Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, emphasizing the importance of attracting foreign investments to develop Iraq’s oil and gas sector and providing an attractive investment environment. Our team visited the booths of participating companies, where their presence was significant and effective, facilitating the exchange of information and addressing the legal role played in assisting oil and gas companies.

This can include safeguarding their intellectual property rights and exclusive agencies, in addition to legal solutions for tax issues, trademarks, and other legal requirements for establishing businesses in Iraq efficiently and with a sound legal stand.

The second day of the conference witnessed active interaction between participating companies, government entities, and private institutions. Participants exchanged experiences and information about the challenges facing the oil and gas industry, discussing ways to enhance cooperation and achieve mutual success.

The Iraq International Oil and Gas Exhibition reflects the Iraqi government’s determination to enhance the role of the private sector and attract foreign investments to develop the country’s oil and gas industries.
